Mission statement

Our mission is to honor and support military veterans by providing transformative travel experiences that promote healing, camaraderie, and recognition of their service. Through these journeys, we aim to foster a sense of community, bolster well-being, and celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of our nation's heroes.

Mountain West Veterans Tours is a Utah non-profit Corporation that primarily serves military veterans. We take groups to locations of historic military significance with the goal of providing healing and perhaps closure, while cultivating an atmosphere of respect and appreciation.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I take my spouse, partner, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc as my wing person?

While we understand how special it would be to share this experience with a spouse

or partner, this particular experience is designed to celebrate and spotlight the honoree

exclusively. To ensure they receive the full recognition they deserve, we kindly ask that

a spouse or partner not accompany them.

Can I take my medications with me?

Yes, your medications may travel with you as long as they meet the TSA requirements.

If you have specific medical needs or concerns, we

recommend notifying the tour coordinator in advance so we can help ensure a smooth

experience for you.

Can I take my cannabis with me?

Although many states have legalized cannabis,

federal law (Controlled Substances Act) classifies it as a Schedule I drug, which

remains illegal on aircraft and at airport security checkpoints—regardless of state

legalization.

How much money do I need to go on a Tour?

Honorees do not need to bring money

for the Tour—everything is covered as part of our commitment to honoring your service.

However, Wingmen/Women and volunteers are responsible for covering their own costs

and should plan to bring money for souvenirs or any personal purchases during the trip.

Is there a casino at the hotel?

While the hotel offers a variety of amenities to make your

stay enjoyable, they do not have a casino on-site.

How is Mountain West Veterans Tours different than an Honor Flight?

While both Mountain West Veterans Tours and Honor Flight programs are deeply

committed to honoring those who have served, they differ in focus and approach:

Honor Flight primarily serves senior veterans, especially those from WWII, Korea, and

Vietnam, by providing trips to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials dedicated to their

service. Mountain West Veterans Tours (MWVT), on the other hand, offers healing-focused

experiences for veterans of all ages, as well as Gold Star families, EMS personnel, and

families of fallen EMS. Through tours and events, MWVT creates opportunities for

meaningful connection, reflection, and community support—helping participants heal

and build lasting relationships.

If I have been on an Honor Flight do I still qualify for a MWVT Tour?

Absolutely! If you’ve participated in an Honor Flight, you’re still very much welcome to

join a Mountain West Veterans Tour. The two programs are not affiliated, and we believe

every opportunity to honor your service is meaningful. If you qualify, we’d be honored

to have you experience both!
